Bee Friendly was a series of lino cutting workshops in conjunction with Click Nottingham.
Click is a social inclusion charity that aims to provide fun and engaging social activities for people who are at risk of being isolated for any number of reasons. We decided to work together using print making to create our own beefriendly hive in a number of locations across northern Nottingham including Sherwood, Birchover and Bulwell. The aim of these workshops was to give the participants and exciting new activity and get them all to work together to create a group artwork. By adding what seems like one small contribution they have created a big beautiful exhibition piece that will be shown at various venues over the summer months.
Look out for this piece in Sherwood Community Centre and the Bilborough Arts Festival.
Sadly, Click is no longer with us. However, hopefully their work and ethos will continue throughout Nottingham with different groups. I aim to keep projects like this one going in as it is so beneficial to so many people.
